How it works

RoastCast puts a cast of original AI characters on a live stream. Chat decides what they say. Pick who you are, open a topic, and every answer is one line of what it is plus one line of how you do it.

Roast150 bits A character roasts you, a random chatter, or someone you name. Pick a face → pick who gets it → cheer. It performs on stream in seconds.
Say it150 bits A character reads your line, in their voice, with the delivery you choose. Pick a face → type the line → pick a mood (smug, shout, whisper...) → cheer.
Surprise me150 bits Same thing, but nobody knows which character until it speaks. Tap the first tile in the row instead of a face. Always the base price.
The 18+ cast250 bits A handful of characters your streamer has to switch on. They cost more. They show a price on the tile. If they're locked, that channel hasn't enabled them.

Skit300 / 400 bits Two or three characters perform a scene together. Pick 2 (300) or 3 (400) faces. Setting the scene is optional - skipping it is fine.
Beef settler300 bits Two characters argue opposite sides of something, and it escalates. Pick 2 faces → write both sides → cheer. They argue the position, never the person.
Boss battle500 bits Up to five characters pile on one target, one after another. Pick 2 to 5 faces → pick the target. Each one is nastier than the last.
SUPER roast500 bits The showpiece. Longer, meaner, and it takes over the screen. Set up a normal roast, then hit "Make it a SUPER roast" before you cheer.

Today's game150 bits A fill-in-the-blank bit that changes every day. You write the punchline. Games tab → tap the top row → fill the blanks → pick who delivers it.
One-word storyFree to play Chat writes a story one word each. Nobody sees it until it's read aloud. Add a word, wait your turn, add another. When it's full, anyone can pay 150 bits to have a character perform it - that's the only way to hear it.
Roast Royale100 bits Two chatters get thrown in the ring. Chat votes. One survives. Only while your streamer is running it. Nominate someone for 100 bits; voting is free.
Caption Wars100 bits Caption the moment. Chat votes for the winner, a character performs it. Only while your streamer is running it. Enter for 100 bits; voting is free.
ExtrasSkip the wait · Community goal · Push it over the line
Skip the wait200 bits Two things at once: it ends your cooldown, and it moves your summon ahead of everyone who didn't pay. Free on every Pro tier. The button only appears while you're actually waiting - there's nothing to skip otherwise.

How the line works

There are two lines, and the paid one always goes first.

  1. Paid lane - everyone who bought a skip, plus every Pro member. Served first, in the order they arrived.
  2. Ordinary lane - everyone else, in the order they arrived. It only moves when the paid lane is empty.

So a skip puts you behind the other people who paid and ahead of everyone who didn't - not at the very front. If two people buy a skip, the one who bought it first performs first. The queue chip at the top of the panel tells you both numbers before you spend anything: how many are waiting, and where a skip would actually put you.

Your cooldown ends the moment the skip goes through, and buying one never adds time to your next wait.

Community goalNo cost A bar everyone's bits fill together. Crossing it unlocks something for the whole channel. Every paid summon feeds it. First milestone lights Super Roast Hour; the next unlocks a secret character for one hour - watch for the countdown tile.
Push it over the line500 bits Bits straight into the bar when it's nearly full, so you're the one who triggers it. Appears only in the last stretch. No summon, no cooldown - the reward is the point.

Why am I waiting?Cooldown A short per-viewer cooldown so one person can't hold the mic all night. Wait it out, or skip it (200 bits, or free with Pro).
Being roasted is opt-inYour call Nobody gets targeted by name unless they've opted in. Type !roastme in chat to opt in, !roastoff to opt back out. You can always roast yourself.
Every line is filteredAlways on Nothing reaches the stream unchecked, whatever the channel's settings are. Slurs, hate, threats, sexual content and anything about who a person is are hard-blocked everywhere. If a line is blocked, it isn't performed.
Something went wrong?We'll fix it Paid for a summon that never played, or got charged twice. Email contact@roastcast.net with your Twitch name and roughly when it happened. Every purchase is logged, so it's quick to find.

Setting it upAdd the extension · add the overlay · set your rules
1. Add the extension2 min Install RoastCast from the Twitch extension directory and activate it as a Panel. It appears under your stream. Viewers can use it immediately.
2. Add the overlay1 min One Browser source in OBS - that's where the character appears and speaks. Add a Browser source with the overlay URL, tick Control audio via OBS, and size it to taste. Position and size are also tunable from the URL (?pos=top-left&scale=1.6) so you never have to edit anything.
3. Set your rulesYour call The Configure page decides which characters exist on your channel and how sharp they are. Turn characters on or off, switch the 18+ cast on or off, set the spice level, and choose whether Pro members' free summons work here.
Running it liveLive games · moderation · the stop switch
Live gamesYou start them Roast Royale and Caption Wars only run when you say so. Games tab → "Run a live game" (only you can see it) → start. Chat gets a LIVE badge and can join.
ModerationAutomatic Every line is filtered before it is spoken, and again before it is posted. Identity, slurs, hate, threats and sexual content are blocked at every setting - the spice level only moves how blunt the humour is, never what's allowed. Targeting a named chatter requires that chatter to have opted in.
If you need it to stopInstant Nothing keeps performing after you turn it off. Disable characters from the Configure page, or remove the panel. Anything queued is dropped.
Known quirk: OBS monitoringA faint crackle in your headphones that viewers never hear

If you hear a faint crackle when a character speaks, check your recording before you change anything - your stream is almost certainly clean.

OBS has a long-standing bug in its browser source: with Control audio via OBS switched on, what you hear through Audio Monitoring can crackle even though the audio being sent to your stream and your recording is perfect. It is a quirk of the browser engine OBS uses, it affects every browser source and not just ours, and viewers never hear it.

Record thirty seconds and play it back. If the file is clean, there is nothing to fix. If you would rather not hear it at all, set Audio Monitoring for that source to Monitor Off and listen on your stream feed instead.

Two settings worth getting right while you're in there: set Settings → Audio → Sample Rate to 48 kHz and make sure your Windows output device matches. A mismatch there causes real crackle, in the stream as well as in your ears.
