Terms of Service
1. What RoastCast is
RoastCast provides AI-driven original characters that appear on live streams: they comment on the stream, banter, and perform viewer-purchased interactions ("summons") in synthesized character voices. RoastCast is available to streamers (via our software and platform extensions) and to viewers (via those extensions).
2. Eligibility
You must meet the age and account requirements of the platform where you use RoastCast (e.g. Twitch). Characters or spice settings marked 18+ may only be enabled on channels that satisfy the platform's mature-content rules.
3. Purchases
- Viewer purchases (e.g. Twitch Bits) are processed by the platform, under the platform's payment terms - we never receive your payment details.
- A summon buys a performance attempt. If your message is blocked by the safety filter (see §4), the character performs a substitute line or declines in character. Except where required by law or platform policy, purchases are non-refundable once processed by the platform.
- Prices are shown before purchase and may change.
4. Content rules (the guardrail)
- Every line a character speaks is written by an AI model and passes an automated safety filter before it is spoken.
- In the Twitch extension, viewers choose - a character, a kind of scene - and never compose. There is nothing to type in it, so nothing a viewer wrote is performed on anyone's channel.
- Hard-blocked at every setting: hate or attacks on protected traits, threats, sexual content involving minors, doxxing, and harassment of private individuals.
- Roast humor targets takes, plays, and situations - not who someone is. Personal roasts happen only when the person asks to be roasted.
- Streamers choose a spice level; mature settings loosen tone, never the hard blocks.
- We may refuse, filter, or end any interaction and may suspend abusive use.
5. Voices, characters & intellectual property
- All RoastCast characters, names, artwork, personalities, and voices are original works owned by us or its licensors.
- Character voices are AI-generated, built from recordings by paid, consenting performers under written contracts covering AI synthesis.
- You may not copy, clone, imitate, fine-tune on, or commercially exploit our characters or voices, or use RoastCast output to train voice or character models.
- Clips of your own stream featuring RoastCast characters are yours to share - that's the point.
6. What you give us
Where you do write something to us - a custom-character order, an email - you give us a license to process, filter, adapt and use it for the thing you asked for, including performing and displaying the resulting character on stream. Don't send us anything you don't have the right to share.
This does not apply to the Twitch extension, because there is nothing in it to write with: every control is a choice from a list we wrote.
7. Acceptable use
- No attempts to bypass the safety filter or age gates.
- No use of RoastCast to harass, defame, or impersonate real people.
- No reverse engineering, scraping, or interfering with the service.
8. AI disclosure
RoastCast characters are clearly-labeled AI. Their lines are generated automatically and performed in synthetic voices; they are fictional characters, and nothing they say is a statement of fact about any real person.
9. Disclaimers & liability
RoastCast is provided "as is" without warranties. Live AI systems can be unavailable, imperfect, or blocked by the guardrail. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Takedowns & complaints
Believe something infringes your rights or crossed a line? Email contact@roastcast.net with a link/clip and a description - we review every report.
11. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after a change is acceptance.
